Software integration has the potential to subvert traditional workplace hierarchies by saving employees time and money while providing them more autonomy and ownership.
Software programs (especially those with AI integrations) enable workers to automate menial tasks, freeing them up to focus on value-added efforts. This is the difference between paying for your environmental engineer to enter data into a spreadsheet versus improve permitting workflows. Additionally, with increased access to help articles and AI guidance, employees can enable their own continuous learning. Employees are able to act more autonomously, as they take ownership for higher-level tasks and have access to resources to support their own professional development.
From an enterprise perspective, compliance management software preserves institutional knowledge, regardless of staffing or process changes. It also allows employees to concentrate on big picture items, driving growth and innovation for the company as a whole. The time and cost savings can be considerable, especially if facilities are strategic about which tasks are delegated to systems and which are still in the hands of staff. Intentional use of compliance management software can also assist companies in attracting top talent, who are motivated by innovative cultures.
What do you think - has your organization been thoughtful about its use of software? What pain points do you see?
